OVERVIEW
Cost Savings:
-
Manufacturing,
assembling and repairing products in Mexico can produce
substantial savings over the cost of performing the same operations in the United States, Canada, or Europe principally due to the much
lower cost of Mexican labor. The fully loaded base hourly rate (including
benefits and employer taxes) for a productive labor hour in one of our
plants for 2012 is 19.19 Mexican pesos per hour. That is U.S.$1.40 per hour
at the December 30, 2011 exchange rate of 13.75 Mexican pesos per U.S.
Dollar.
Shelter Plan:
-
We operate a shelter plan, in which we
provide factory space, workers and administrative support for the manufacturing
operations of our clients. Basically, we provide all of the Mexican resources
which the operations require, and our clients provide the machinery, equipment,
raw materials, and technology required to produce their products.
Types of Shelters:
-
We offer both Client Managed and Mo-Mex Managed shelters.
In a Client Managed shelter, the client takes on the task of managing the
production process.
In a Mo-Mex Managed shelter, we take on that task with the technical
support of the client.
